Ready, Set, Showtime!

Hi everybody,
I'm Showtime (a nickname given to me by my Fraternity brothers) and I'm a Junior at RIT studying communication. I'm looking to get into the community to become more social and be acknowledged by women. A friend of mine from back home introduced me to the Pickup Artist show on VH1, and I wasn't very impressed at the time. Then I read The Game by Neil Strauss and my interest was piqued immediately. Style lent an authenticity to pickup that the cheesy reality show (although I'm now a big fan) didn't. Fortunately, two of my best friends (also lovable losers from tech school) are interested in pickup too, so we've decided to start winging each other in the field.

I'm glad to join this forum. I hope I can learn from you as well as contribute some knowledge from my own experiences.

Welcome, but some words of warning....

While it is great to have your friends in it with you, do not rely on them. Personal change happens for everyone at different times and at different speeds. They may get ahead of you or fall behind and become uninterested. What you have to do is apreciate them as asets but not rely on them like a social crutch.

Welcome to the forum! Actively posting and reading will force you to examine yourself on a constant basis, and as long as you are honest with yourself and the community the feedback you will receive will be invaluable.

You should encourage your friends to join as well. I have one "irl" friend who really got me started here and it's so helpful being able to bounce thoughts and ideas off each other.
