We all have them. And usually, they are a weakness for us.

For instance, some of need to brag to protect our fragile ego. Others of us lose control of the frame at times (such as myself). Others don't have an ego built up yet, so we come across as extremely weak. There are other scenarios as well.

Where does your ego stand?

Gigantic, because I am literally magical.

Okay, I know that is corny. My level of ego depends so much on what is going on, who I am with, what I have eaten recently, amount of sleep... but generally, yes, I am fairly well set in the ego department...

It is a weakness because even though I should know way better by now I still think I can do anything.
[EDIT: by the way, that is the kind of picture I take after I have been writing for thirty hours straight. I had quite a few red bulls last night...]

I'll have an ego for a while, then get completely blown out. Its either, I can't do wrong, or I cant do anything right.

Hee hee, it was a shameless plug! But maybe that in itself demonstrates my absurd ego. Or my sense of reason after being up for days straight! I just give myself a photoshop haircut, cleanse myself with some blue energy.. stuff, and it's all good!

I find my ego is enormously affected by whether I have one or more wings with me, and who these wings are. If I'm standing on my own and have to open with a girl on the street, I NEVER manage to follow the three-second rule and normally I miss my chance. However, if I'm hanging around a bunch of people I know (even superficial acquaintances), I'll have no problem in trying to open even the most improbable sets. In fact, the more superficial the acquaintance, the easier for me to fly where eagles dare (close friends, of course, means their judgment is potentially more intimidating).

I think it's the fact that they provide me with a friendly platform to return to in case I'm blown off, and that has a gigantic psychological effect. It might also mean that I have an exhibitionist nature and need to "impress" my friends, but I hope that's not true (or not majorly so).

I don't think you need to build up an ego.
I dropped my ego completely since 2 months. Completely.

I think ego and self-confidence ( true self-confidence ) are completely unrelated. One should be confident without having an ego.

Anything anybody throws at me now , I don't care. I used to for my ego, would throw something back, or disacknowledge them consciously ( but unconsciously he attacked my ego ).
I don't have an ego now so nobody can attack it; I just don't care.

Cheers

Btw, I think EGO's are the sources of a lot of problems in this world.

I agree completely with this. I've been shedding ego for a couple of months pretty successfully. Last night I was talking to a girl whom I used to know romantically (the option still remains) when she told me she suffers from an eating disorder. The knowing her romantically and that dynamic still being there is an important one to the statement I'm about to make, as I'd often be cocky/funny and 'neg' her early on in learning PUA, even though I had her before I learned any of this stuff. But last night, after I talked to her, I realized that while I may not think being egotistical and such is doing anything harmful but I don't know what people are really thinking and feeling. It made me shameful to think that one of my 'negs' may have contributed to a day of her starving herself.

Needless to say that conversation reinforced my want to get rid of those traits of my old character I viewed as negative. Everyone has their own ways of viewing things and doing things, I felt I'd share mine. Please don't miscontrue it as my accusing people who use 'negs' to contributing to eating disorders, but rather understand the impact it had on me personally.

:-)
